Sau một thời gian khá dài thương lượng với phía Google về việc cắt giảm chi phí khi người chơi mua vật phẩm trong game, nhà phát hành Epic Games quyết định đồng ý nhượng bộ và cho ra mắt phiên bản Fortnite game sinh tồn Android trên Google Play. Hiện tại, người chơi sử dụng thiết bị Android không cần phải tải và cài trò chơi qua cổng Epic Games mà có thể tải miễn phí từ store ứng dụng.

Game mobile Fortnite có mặt trên Google Play Store

Trước đây, cha đẻ của Fortnite – Epic Games đã từng nghĩ đến việc đưa trò chơi này lên cửa hàng ứng dụng của Google. Nhưng sau khi nhận thấy việc cắt giảm đến 30% từ phí mua hàng trong game, CEO của Epic – ông Tim Sweeny đã quyết định là không gửi gắm Fortnite cho Google Play.

Tuy nhiên sau đó Epic Games nhận ra rằng Google đã có một vài “hành động nhỏ” tác động lên các trò chơi Android không phát hành trên store của họ. Thông qua một số biện pháp kỹ thuật, Google khiến cho các phần mềm cài đặt ngoài Google Play Store ở tình thế bất lợi. Khi người dùng Android muốn tải một ứng dụng hay phần mềm nào từ bên thứ 3, họ sẽ gặp phải các cảnh báo hoặc cửa sổ hiện lên liên tục mô tả đây là tin độc hại, không nên tải về máy.

Và dù hiện tại dù đã cho phát hành game mobile Fortnite trên store của Google, nhưng Epic Games vẫn vận hành trò chơi này trên trang riêng của mình.

Ngoài việc ra mắt trên Google Play, sắp tới Fortnite sẽ ra mắt một ca khúc mới của rapper nổi tiếng Travis Scott. Bên cạnh đó, người chơi sẽ có cơ hội thu thập các vật phẩm đặc biệt do nam rapper thiết kế.
